X-ray film is high in silver content. The precious metal is collected from the film for profit.

Man steals donation jar for kids' charity

An investigation has led to the arrest of a 19-year-old man from Ypsilanti, who admitted to the larceny of a donation jar that contained money for the Children's Miracle Network. The young man confirmed he was spotted on surveillance tape, taking the item from a Speedway gas station on June 12.

Michigan men accused of stealing construction equipment

Two men from Saginaw, Michigan, are facing criminal charges for theft and larceny after they reportedly made off with some $20,000 worth of construction equipment. The men, ages 35 and 36, were arraigned on charges of larceny, conspiracy to commit larceny and possession of burglar tools, according to official reports.

Farmer gets probation for pot distribution

A 62-year-old Michigan farmer has avoided jail time after facing drug charges for allegedly growing thousands of marijuana plants. The man and his wife were arrested two years ago when a raid by drug enforcement officers yielded some 8,000 plants. In March, the man pleaded guilty to manufacturing with intent to distribute marijuana. The woman's charges were dismissed in early May.
